LOW TIDE
LOW TIDE
cycle of 5 photographs
2022
A series of photographs of houses buried in sea sand. The houses are located in a place that, only a few decades ago, was a fishing village. As a result of excessive land exploitation by the owners of the fish ponds, the ground subsided and was flooded by the rising sea. The photos were taken at low tide in an area that becomes submerged during high tide. Budai in Taiwan, where the photographs were made, is also the place where, three years later, I worked with the residents of the Xincuo Village to create the film The Tropic of Cancer.
