The Fish is a story about a fisherwoman who transforms into a sea being. After she comes to understand the severe condition of her beloved sea, the protagonist changes her alliances and decides to stay under the water’s surface. The film’s narrative is partially based on real people, and in particular the life experience of a Swedish fisherwoman Manjula Gulliksson and her husband and Stefan Nordin with whom the artist worked closely, not just as protagonists but also as co-creators of the story.
