MEMORIAL STONE
placed in Park Skaryszewski in Warsaw
2020

A memorial stone with a poem made of quotes from the silent film „Polonia Restituta 1918-1920”. The poem was created by removing most of the words from the film texts and leaving only those which can be interpreted as a story of an independent woman. The poem is carved in granite by one of the only few female stonemasons working in Poland. The plaque is placed on a concrete base and installed in a quiet corner of the Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw, where during the Polish-Bolshevik war a unit of legionnaires from the Women’s Legion built over a 100-meter section of Warsaw’s defence.
