STORM
5 channel installation, 18′
2020

Portraits of five people standing at the sea shore, observing a violent storm on a distant island. The protagonists know very well that what is happening on the island, may soon happen on their land too. They are scared but also fascinated by the destructive storm. Some of them envy their neighbours experiencing something extraordinary, some feel relieved and guilty knowing the storm is far away, some hope the storm will arrive soon and put an end to the fear and anxiety caused by waiting for the worst to come. The protagonists continuously describe the changing landscape. Their monologues are not only an image of the weather conditions but also of the changing landscape of political tensions and social conflicts.

The films are shown on 5 separate monitors placed in a half circle surrounding the viewer.
